18U Crushers win 2007 NOVA Fall Open
Congratulations to 18U Crushers as they go 4-1 on their way to victory on September
8th-9th.
10U Crushers take 2nd in 2007 Memorial Day Madness tournament in
Harrisburg
For the 10U Virginia Crushers it was a very fun and successful weekend, . They
travelled to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to play in the Memorial Day Madness PONY
tournament.
The girls had a great weekend both on and off the field. On the field they went 4-0-2
through pool play, the only undefeated team on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday was
especially great as they won all three games by a combined score of 28-3.
In the end, the 10U Crushers played in the Championship game, coming away with a
2nd place trophy.

16U VA Crushers win 2007 May Shootout
The 16U VA Crushers won the May Shootout in Colonial Heights, VA, earning
a berth to the USSSA World Series tournament in Salisbury, MD. They
outscored their opponents 31-1 on the road to victory.
Crushers Take 2006 Halloween Classic
The Virginia Crushers 10U Fastpitch Softball team won the 2006 Halloween Classic in
Sterling, Virginia this weekend (Oct 28th and 29th). The Crushers are made up of girls
7 to 10 years old from Prince William and surrounding counties. In route to the
championship the girls defeated the Maryland Stars, last years PONY Nationals
runners-up, 6-0. The attack was led by Katie Anderson, (Westridge Elementary), who
went 2-2 with 2 RBIs. Alexa Luiggi (Marshall Elementary) had the shut-out, striking
out 7 Stars in 3 innings. In the game leading to the championship game, the Crushers
defeated the Arlington Sage 5-2. The girls then had to wait around for 4 hours to
determine whom they would play for the title.
In the Championship game the Crushers faced the Loudon Baseliners. Alexa Luiggi
went the full 6 innings striking out 14 while giving up only 2 earned runs against a strong
Baseliners team that had scored 28 runs in the previous 2 games. Lauren Eckley went 3
for 3 scoring 2 runs, and Hannah Garner (Marshall Elementary) went 2 for 3 with 2
RBIs. Katie Anderson accounted for 4 runs, scoring twice and driving in 2 runs.

BACK-TO BACK CHAMPIONSHIPS
Congratulations to the 14U Crushers for winning back-to back tournaments. Last week the Crushers won the 2006 PONY Summer Blaze tournament and this week they won the 2006 NSA Bring the Heat tournament in Vienna. What a great accomplishment!!! HIGHLIGHTS this week included Alexa going 13 for 16, sister Amanda knocking in 9 runs and hitting a towering 2 run HR over the RF fence. Meaghan hitting .600 with 7 rbi's. Blair and Shyanne winning two games each. Becka breaking out with 7 hits, Kristen and Kasey hitting .500,Katie pitching the championship, and Blair hitting a HR. WOW!! WHAT a TEAM EFFORT!! Great job Crushers.
